Egypt: Work on the largest solar power plant in the world

Egypt’s Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy has announced the construction of the largest solar power plant in the world with a capacity of 1465 MW, with an area of 30 km2.
The Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Dr. Mohamed Shaker, said during a press conference held in Cairo today that the total new increase in electricity prices did not exceed 26%, and will be implemented as of next July, adding that domestic consumption will increase to 24%.
