Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tariq al-Mulla announced that the production of natural gas from the field will rise to reach one billion and 750 million cubic feet of gas per day before the end of this month. He predicted during the inspection of the work on the project of the field of natural gas field in Port Said province – the field will continue to rise to reach about 2 billion cubic feet of gas per day during the month of September. Adding that the national companies executing the project are currently testing the operation of two new units in the gas processing plant and are nearing completion of offshore work to pump new gas production from deep water wells through a 30-inch pipeline being tested before actual operation. Al-Mulla stressed the importance of accelerating the implementation of the stages of this giant national project and all other gas fields development projects, which will contribute to achieving the goal of self-sufficiency of natural gas before the end of this year and stop importing liquefied natural gas as one of the most important economic priorities of the Ministry of Petroleum at present.
