Emirates announces changes to its 2019 network

Emirates has announced modifications to its operational programs in 2019 to reduce the impact of closing the southern runway at Dubai International Airport in April and May, as well as adapting to global travel demand trends. The airline has also outlined the plans for its fleet this year.
“We will continue to monitor the world markets closely throughout the year, maintaining our flexibility to use our fleet of aircraft in the best possible way,” said Emirates Airline Chief Sir Tim Clark.
The closing of Dubai International Airport’s southern runway for maintenance between 16 April and 30 May 2019 will affect a large number of regular Emirates flights.
Due to restrictions on operating flights using a single runway at its hub, Emirates will have to cancel or reschedule many of its flights or change the aircraft model on some routes to minimize the impact on customers. This will result in the non-use of 48 aircraft with a 25% The number of flights operated by the carrier during the 45 days.
Air Arabia will operate additional flights to several of its stations in Africa from June 2019 to meet the growing demand for its services, providing customers with more choice and ease of travel to various destinations through its headquarters in Dubai.
Emirates will also operate additional flights to many destinations in Europe during the peak summer travel season of 2019.
In order to meet the growing seasonal demand, Emirates will operate Airbus A380 aircraft to a number of destinations.
Emirates will also be adjusting its services to South America to optimize the fleet’s use and, as of June 1, 2019, will be operating its newly redesigned Boeing 777-200LR with two class divisions to serve its daily flight to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In order to provide more efficient and direct options for customers traveling to and from Australia, Emirates will suspend the flight EK 418/419 between Bangkok and Sydney from 1 June 2019. Sydney will continue to operate three A380 non-stop daily flights and will be available to Emirates customers who wish Travel between Bangkok and Sydney Flights from Emirates partner Quantas As of March 31, 2019, Emirates will suspend flight EK 424/425 and serve Perth with one daily non-stop flight on the A380. Emirates customers from Perth will be able to continue their two-way journey through Dubai to more than 38 destinations in Europe and 16 other cities in Europe with Emirates Flydubai partner.
