The eighth annual Emirates Green Building Council conference discussed the importance of the cyclical economy model in the construction sector in support of sustainable development goals in the UAE according to 2021 Vision.
The event was held on May 1 and 2 at the Pullman Dubai Creek City Center in Dubai under the theme “The Circular Economy in the Emirate of Dubai”.
The first day was welcomed by HE Saeed Alabbar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Green Building Council, followed by the opening speech of Sheikha Shama bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Founder and CEO of Alliance for Global Sustainability.
Speakers at the opening session included Ahmed Butti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai and Andrea De Grigorio, Director of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Resources Management in Ras Al Khaimah Municipality who spoke on behalf of Munther Mohammed Bin Shukr, Director General of RAK Municipality. The speech was delivered by Ibrahim Al Zu’bi, Head of Sustainability at Majid Al Futtaim, Platinum Partner of the Conference.
