Empower plans to set up its first self-powered cooling plant for AED 250 million

Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower) plans to establish the world’s first self-powered cooling plant this year after setting up a contract to set up a 250 million dirham cooling plant in the Jumeirah Village Village with a total capacity of 50,000 metric tons. Ahmed Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, said the plant will be the world’s first self-powered cooling plant using artificial intelligence to monitor and adjust water flow to and from the cooling station and the advanced SCADA system, which provides the ability to read two million data on cooling towers, chillers, “TES” and “TSE” treated wastewater will be used to produce refrigerated water and pump it into buildings through heat exchangers located in each building.
