“Federal Tax” develops electronic services to facilitate the work of shipping companies and customs clearance

The Federal Tax Authority has revealed the details of the updates and development

processes it has introduced on its electronic services in order to provide more facilities and simplify the procedures of registration and filing of tax returns in general regarding the activities and fields of work of shipping companies and customs clearance approved by the Authority in particular. This came during the third tariff seminar for shipping agents and customs clearance organized by the Authority in Dubai on “Developed electronic systems of the Federal Tax Authority and its role in facilitating the work of shipping and clearing companies and facilitating the internal and external trade of the country in which more than 100 specialists and specialists in the shipping and customs clearance sectors participated. Khalid Al Bustani, Director General of the Federal Tax Authority, said in a press release issued today that the seminar was part of the Authority’s plans to raise the level of tax awareness among the business sectors and ensure continuous communication with employees in all economic activities to inform them of the latest developments in tax procedures and identification. And to deal with any obstacles they may face in order to ensure that the UAE tax regulations are implemented easily and in a manner that achieves the desired objectives of implementation. He pointed out that the customs clearance companies accredited by the Authority contribute effectively to facilitate the compliance of taxable traders with their tax obligations. These companies play an important role to strengthen the relationship between the Authority and taxpayers, increase compliance rates and increase awareness of the principles of the tax system and its executive and supervisory mechanisms and areas of application. The approved customs clearance reached 86 companies registered after meeting the technical standards and conditions set by the Commission to ascertain their competency and availability of all professional standards that qualify them to carry out clearance duties.
