Federal Taxation: June 28 deadline for submission of declarations and payment of taxes

The Federal Tax Authority announced that the number of registered works for value added tax (VAT), which is obliged to submit its declarations and pay its taxes by a maximum of 28 June, is estimated at about 92 thousand registered with the Commission, which includes about 89 thousand registered for the quarterly periods whose first period started in January 2018 And ended at the end of last May in addition to about 3 thousand registered within the monthly periods who submit their statements every month.
The Commission demanded in a press release issued today the works registered in the value added tax system, which ended its tax period by the end of May, to submit its declarations and pay the taxes due before the expiry of the legal deadline specified, stressing the need to submit tax returns of zero if the registered business does not have any deliveries during Tax period in order to avoid exposure to administrative fines.
The Commission affirmed its keenness to simplify the procedures for submitting declarations and paying the taxes due to the tax system to encourage them to comply with the self-tax.
Khalid Ali al-Bustani, director general of the Federal Tax Authority, said that the medium and small businesses accounted for the largest share of the registered business, which began its first tax period on January 1, 2018 and ended at the end of May, which will then submit quarterly statements.
He added: “Since these businesses, which have a large number of registrars with the Authority, are submitting their statements for the first time, we invite them to submit the declarations and pay the dues by entering the eServices portal of the Authority: eservices.tax.gov.ae to identify this information accurately, That payment of the receivables before the expiry of the deadline for payment is not required to implement the two steps at the same time.
