Issuing 6 licenses to generate self-regulation using solar panels on the roofs of buildings in Abu Dhabi

Saif Al Qubaisi, Director General of the Regulation and Supervision Bureau – Abu Dhabi that was issued 6 to generate self-regulation regarding the production of electricity using photovoltaic solar panels on the roofs of buildings in Abu Dhabi with a total capacity of more than 3 MW, bringing the total number of licensed projects to 44 projects to generate electricity from PV systems licenses On the roofs of buildings in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
He explained that the number of licenses issued by the Office by the end of 2017 reached 81 licenses divided between permanent development and self-supply and self-regulation, notably the license issued for strategic storage project for fresh water in Liwa.
He pointed out that the total capacity of solar PV systems on the roofs of buildings in Abu Dhabi has doubled to 6 MW. Projects are expected to accelerate in the coming period, driven by lower prices of solar panels and increased consumer awareness.
He pointed out that the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is diverse and attracts the attention of the international forums concerned with renewable energy and sustainable development and makes Abu Dhabi a global destination for sustainability, renewable and clean energy and the most important supporters of protecting the environment not only locally but also internationally.
He added that the week of Abu Dhabi Sustainability in 2018 is characterized by that coincides with the “Year of Zayed” announced by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan “may God protect him” to be a celebration Palmghafoor Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “God rest his soul, which laid the foundations of sustainability and drawing A clear approach to balance between urban development and conservation of resources and the environment, stressing that the wise leadership follows this approach to achieve its vision and make the UAE a global destination for sustainability
