The latest data by the Central Bank of Jordan showed that tourism income rose by 6.1 percent to 1,746 million dollars (1236 million dinars) compared to 1645 million dollars for the same period last year. Overseas remittances rose by 1.6 percent to the end of April this year to $ 1202 million (851 million dinars), compared to $ 1182 million for the same period last year.
Tourism income and remittances, along with national exports, are the main components of the current account, support the balance of payments and boost the Kingdom’s foreign exchange reserves.
