KUWAIT exports up 30 percent last April: Ministry

Kuwait’s non-oil exports rose 30 percent last April, compared with the same time period in 2018, announced the ministry of commerce and industry on Saturday.

Total exports were about KD 12.3 million (approximately USD 40 million), compared with KD 8.8 million in 2018 (about USD 28.8 million). Arab countries, excluding the GCC states, accounted for KD 5.1 million (about USD 16.7 million) and KD 5.3 million (about USD 17.4 million) for the rest of the world.

Meanwhile, Kuwait’s exports to the Gulf countries reached KD 1.9milion (about USD 6.2 million), the ministry said.

Iraq came first in Arab countries importing Kuwait products, followed by Jordan, Lebanon, Algeria, Yemen, Egypt and Morocco.

As for the GCC states, Saudi Arabia came first, followed by Qatar, UAE, Oman and Bahrain

The Ministry added that Italy was the top country in importing Kuwait goods, Belgium was second, followed by France, Portugal, Turkey, Bulgaria and Spain
