KuwaitBC launches ‘Murshid Business Packages’ a beneficiary to companies and students startups

Media IN Dubai, 26th May, 2019 WAM

The late Murshid Al Osaimi was a businessman who lived in UAE but with Kuwait origin. He inspired many  Kuwait citizens to invest in Dubai. Therefore, in abid to honour his legacy, the Kuwait Business Council in Dubai, sought it wise to  launch the ‘Murshid Business Packages’, which allow individuals and companies from different nationalities to benefit from the services, facilities, and activities offered by the council all year round.

The Murshid Business Packages offer a host of services and facilities to three main categories in KuwaitBC’s current membership system:

  • Kuwaiti students based in the UAE
  • Kuwaiti start-ups (up to three years from founding date)
  • International Corporations looking to build strategic relations with the Kuwaiti business community in the UAE.

Coinciding with the third-year anniversary of KuwaitBC’s founding, the new packages are introduced to promote the council’s efforts in expanding the Kuwaiti business-community base, by supporting Kuwaiti students and startups, as well as international corporations, to become part of this community outside Kuwait.

On the new launch, KuwaitBC Chairwoman Luma Bourisly said, “As KuwaitBC turns three this month, we aim to cater to a wider range of business segments within the UAE. The Murshid Business Packages come as a qualitative complement to the council’s membership system, allowing three main segments to benefit from the facilities that KuwaitBC provides to its members, along with other services that meet their needs.”

She noted that KuwaitBC intends for the programme to act like a guide that helps lead the beneficiaries to new prospects in the business world, whether through thematic events and government facilities or discounts and free counselling services, in collaboration with experts’ bodies and public entities.

The “Start-up Package” includes a variety of services designed to support Kuwaiti start-uppers (no more than three years from inception) wishing to expand their operations in the UAE market or to participate in global events – exhibitions, conventions, awards, and so on – held in the country.

In addition to discounted participation fees on select events, the benefits offered to this category include access to legal consultations and execution of government transactions in collaboration with KuwaitBC’s public and private partners. This package can be afforded for just AED2,000 per year, valid for two beneficiaries per company.

Then, there is the “International Corporations Package”, which offers services and facilities to non-member from government entities, other business councils in Dubai and international companies. This package would allow these entities to access specialised studies and reports issued by KuwaitBC, to attend events throughout the year, and to communicate with the Kuwaiti business community, thus opening up wider prospects for commercial and investment opportunities in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. This package can be afforded for just AED2,000 per year, valid for two beneficiaries per company.

Yet a third category was created – the “Student Package – offering Kuwaiti students in UAE universities a host of services and facilities linked to entrepreneurship and employment. This package includes hands-on internship opportunities in Kuwaiti and international companies based in Dubai, multi-field career and entrepreneurial counselling sessions delivered by veteran Kuwaiti experts, in addition to training programmes and other benefits.
