The Ministry of Economy participated today in a race launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to be the first federal ministry to participate in this humanitarian initiative.
The Minister of Economy, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, HE Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi, Undersecretary for Economic Affairs, HE Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Saleh, Undersecretary for Foreign Trade Affairs, Assistant Undersecretaries and a number of officials and directors of departments and employees of the Ministry of Economy .
HE Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri praised the Sakaya Hope Race and stressed that the Ministry of Economy is proud to support this pioneering humanitarian initiative and to participate in this race which reflects the noble humanitarian vision of UAE leadership and promotes humanitarian interaction and solidarity with communities and regions experiencing difficulties and scarcity of access to safe water. And encourages participation in supporting them and improving their living conditions through community responsibility practices and the contribution of governmental and private institutions to humanitarian action.
He pointed out that this good initiative represents an extension of the noble humanitarian message and values of good and generosity adopted by the UAE, and reflects its constant efforts to extend a helping hand to needy people in the world.
The Sakaya Hope race is part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Initiatives Foundation, an innovative humanitarian effort to engage the community in giving and donating water to areas with poor access to potable water resources. Employees in this human race and compete by injecting the largest amount of water through a portable virtual mobile pumping device. The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Initiatives Foundation will donate the same amount of total water pumped by each and every institution and deliver it to the needy and disadvantaged in the area The less fortunate.
