Ministry of Finance reviews 2019 budget updates and initiatives and launches e-wallet

The Ministry of Finance held a briefing today at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi to announce the updates and initiatives of the draft general budget of the Federation for the fiscal year 2019 approved by the Cabinet yesterday amounting to 60.3 billion dirhams, an increase of 17.3% of the total budget appropriations for 2018. The ministry launched the smart application “e-wallet”, one of the innovative e-Dirham initiatives to support smart government programs, and reviewed the highlights of the e-Dirham 2018. The average increase in the financial allocations for the budget of 2019 compared to the budget cycle for the previous years 2014/2011 amounted to 23.9%.
