Egypt is witnessing the opening of a number of major national projects in the electricity sector on Tuesday, including the three giant plants carried out by the company “Siemens” German, in the new administrative capital and Beni Suef and Albarlos in Kafr El Sheikh.
The three new giant plants in the world, implemented by Siemens in Germany, are to be opened in the new administrative capital, Beni Suef and Al-Burlus with a total production capacity of 14400 megawatts, or about 50% additional electricity for the current electricity network in the Republic. The largest of its kind in the world.
Among the stations is the largest wind power plant in the world in the Jebel El Zayt area in the Red Sea, with capacity of 580 megawatts, at a cost of 12 billion pounds.
Located on the western side of the coastline of Hurghada, the plant is the world’s largest and most modern wind power plant, with a capacity of 100 square kilometers and a total of 290 turbines from the latest turbines.
The total capacity of the Jebel El Zayt wind station is 580 megawatts, with a production rate of 2 megawatts per turbine. The first project includes 120 turbines with a capacity of 240 megawatts. The second includes 110 turbines with a capacity of 220 megawatts.
