The index of the Karachi Stock Exchange, the largest stock market in Pakistan today, rose by 0.30 percent, equivalent to 122 points, and closed at 40894 points.
A total of 70707910 shares were traded in 367 transactions. The market capitalization of 144 companies rose, 191 companies declined and 32 companies settled.
Shares in the banking sector, chemical and electrical companies dominated the positive trading on the stock exchange.
