The Saudi-Tunisian Joint Committee held its tenth session on Saturday and Sunday in Riyadh. The Saudi side was headed by His Excellency Minister of Trade and Investment Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi. The Tunisian side was headed by HE Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation Ziad Al-Athari. Private sector of the two countries.

This session is an embodiment of the historic fraternal ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Tunisia, confirming the implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Excellency President Béji Kayed Sibsi, President of the Republic of Tunisia, and their firm are determined to develop various aspects of cooperation. And solidarity between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.

The heads of the delegations expressed their satisfaction with the level of relations of brotherhood and cooperation between the two countries and their aspiration to develop and diversify them to include new areas and the high level of communication between the two countries. The visits were held at the level of the two leaderships and senior officials of both countries within one year, .

The Saudi and Tunisian sides signed joint cooperation agreements aimed at boosting the volume of trade and investment exchange between the two countries and following up the implementation of the agreed recommendations on the sidelines of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ recent visit to Tunisia, as well as agreements supporting the private sector in both countries,  in the pharmaceutical, food and mining sectors, as well as bilateral partnerships between the two sides.

They stressed the necessity of intensifying and continuing efforts to increase the volume of trade exchanges, boost investment and raise the level of technical cooperation by activating cooperation mechanisms. The committee valued the signing of an agreement between the two countries in the field of housing, reconstruction and development during the work of this committee. under consideration.

At the end of the Committee’s meetings, a record was signed.
It is worth mentioning that the volume of trade exchange between the Kingdom and Tunisia reached 2019 million dollars in 2018, an increase of 16% over 2017.
