Sharjah Chamber discuss bilateral relationships with Brazil

The Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry,(SCCI) met with  the Brazilian Ambassador to the UAE, at the chamber’s headquarters.

The meeting was attended by the Acting Director-General of the SCCI, the CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah,  Head of the International Bureau for the Middle East and North Africa at the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of boosting cooperation in various sectors, especially trade and investment, as well as promoting friendly ties between business communities in Sharjah and Brazil.

The possibility of organising joint economic events, whether unilaterally or bilaterally, in Sharjah and Brazil were also reviewed, to define available investment opportunities in both countries.

The two sides discussed cooperation between the SCCI and the Brazilian Embassy, as well as increasing trade exchange and visits between trade delegations, and participation in economic exhibitions in the emirate and Brazil.

The value of Brazilian exports to the Arab world during 2019’s first quarter amounted to US$3.15 billion compared to $2.75 billion during the same period last year.

The latest figures issued by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce showed that the UAE imported 650,230 tonnes of Brazilian products worth $794.53 million. The imports of Arab countries from Brazil included iron, corn, sugar, chicken, beef, and aircraft.

The Chairman SCCI noted that they will participate  in the 11th edition of the World Chambers Congress, which will be held in Rio de Janeiro, from 12th to 14th June 2019.
