Sharjah Ramadan Festival to kick off 6th May, 2019- SCCI

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) will organize the 30th edition of the “Ramadan of Sharjah” 2019 festival under the slogan “Have Ramadan and Surprises Happened” in cooperation and coordination with a number of government and private departments and institutions working in the Emirate and with support and support from the departments of shopping centers, central markets and specialized shops in Sharjah.

Mr. Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, Director of Economic Relations and Marketing at the Chamber, Coordinator of the Festival, said during a press conference held by the Chamber today, tha the procedures necessary to launch the presentations on schedule are under the supervision of the Higher Organizing Committee to serve all sectors of society and stimulate the economic movement, marketing and tourism in Sharjah during this period of the year, which is characterized by a remarkable turnup and tourists to take advantage of large offers and discounts on various products.

He pointed out that the festival, which has become a milestone and a prominent social and economic event in the emirate aims to stimulate the economic movement in general and the retail sector in particular and contribute to the increase in the number of shopping malls, supermarkets and shops that announced discounts for shoppers ranging from 25 to 75 percent All cities of the Emirate.

He added that the number of shops participating in the festival this year is more than 2000 shops and new commercial centers will participate for the first time as part of its keenness to take advantage of the great opportunities offered by the festival.

Al Jarwan pointed out that the festival is one of the most important  events that Sharjah Chamber is keen to maintain its organization because of its historical dimensions in the conscience of the people of Sharjah in addition to the economic, social and tourism dimensions  since its inception in 1989 it formed a solid nucleus for the thought of organizing and managing festivals and marketing events. As a team that believes in success, development, creativity and excellence.

Al Jarwan stressed the constructive and effective role played by the festival in activating the commercial movement and motivating the private sector to develop the facilities, which led to the emergence of new and modern marketing concepts represented in the shopping centers that combine all the commercial sectors, entertainment and service, as well as the sector of fitness under one roof in an ideal environment and an upscale and civilized addition to enrich the tourism sector in the emirate.

Jamal Buzengal highlighted the new role of the Chamber in supporting and stimulating the commercial movement in the Emirate. The most important of these is its decision to exempt shops in the Central and Eastern regions from participating fees in support of the retail sector in the region, which is one of the most active sectors of the economy.

In its 30th season, the festival will feature a variety of cultural, religious, economic, sporting and recreational activities and activities that will enhance Sharjah’s status as a distinctive tourist destination throughout the region in the holy month. The most important of these is the Ramadan 2019 Fair, organized by Expo Center Sharjah, Sharjah Trade and Industry for 17 days from 23 May to 8 June.

Sultan Shattaf, Director of Marketing at Expo Center Sharjah, said that the exhibition is part of the Center’s initiatives to enhance the emirate’s reputation as the region’s preferred retail destination to cater to the needs of shoppers and visitors during the holiday and holiday season. Which the event provides to its visitors through a comprehensive shopping platform that allows visitors to buy all they need during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al Fitr.

The festival will also witness the launch of the Ramadan Bazaar for various products at the Al Jerina stores during the period from May 8 to June 2, in addition to the opening of the Heritage Village at the Sharjah Expo Center from 23 May to 8 June.

A number of sporting events will be organized during the festival days, most notably the Sharjah Sports Ramadan Football Championships in closed halls in cooperation with the Sharjah Radio and Television Authority, as well as the hospitality center, which is open throughout the holy month of Ramadan in various shopping malls in Sharjah. Is witnessing a high turnout of visitors.

The Sharjah Radio and Television Authority (SCTA) will sponsor the festival in support of its activities. Fatima Bin Sandal, Director of Marketing and Government Communication, said that the Foundation will provide comprehensive media coverage of the festival’s activities in various regions of the emirate. The role the Authority is to serve the flourishing economic movement under our wise leadership.

In his remarks,  Sultan Al Hashemi, Head of Corporate Communication Department at Sharjah Municipality, confirmed the municipality’s full support for the festival and provided many important facilities for its various activities.

He pointed out that the municipality lighting and decorating the streets for the holy month of Ramadan and participating in a number of events, Of the centers to introduce the various services provided by the municipality to the public.
