Siemens and Siemens sign MoU to develop energy sector

The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Siemens International to develop the traditional and renewable energy sector and develop concepts related to the optimal energy mix for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi by integrating traditional and renewable sources of energy into existing production networks and existing assets to ensure the security of supplies and achieve the lowest possible tariff.
The MoU aims to support the policies of localizing the energy sector and activating technology. The two parties are working on a road map for operating and managing the assets of the energy sector in national hands over the next three years, providing training and knowledge transfer and bringing the necessary expertise to promote full Emiratisation.
The MoU is the culmination of a number of meetings held by representatives of the Energy Department and Siemens to discuss options for optimizing the energy system, cooperation in renewable energy, the new energy industry, technology transfer and Emiratisation in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The two parties agreed to form a steering committee to implement the agreement and identify projects necessary to achieve development priorities and optimize the use of existing energy generation assets and develop renewable energy. The two sides agreed to develop models to optimize the energy systems in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi through a detailed analysis of the size, Including the expansion of the use of electric vehicles.
“The partnership with Siemens International supports the policy of diversifying energy sources and access to energy security through ambitious initiatives and projects to integrate diverse energy sources, expand reliance on renewable energy and encourage innovation in smart cities,” said Mohammed Bin Jarash Al Falasi, The terms of the memorandum of understanding extend to the whole of the UAE through the development of models to achieve the optimal level of energy systems in the country and analyze the size and nature of consumption and future directions.
