The “Supply Chain and Distribution” Forum discusses sustainable environmental best practices

The 7th edition of the Sustainable Supply Chain and Distribution Forum, organized by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), recently highlighted the best global practices adopted to reduce the environmental impact of companies and institutions in the emirate and encourage the adoption of the best corporate sustainability programs.
The forum, which is part of the DSCC Supply Chain and Distribution Team, provides an ideal platform for the various supply chain and distribution partners to share experiences and knowledge and engage in a constructive dialogue on promoting the sector and its sustainable practices, promoting partnerships and implementing sustainable practices within the supply and distribution sector.
Sarah Ali Ibrahim, Environmental Researcher at the Ministry of Climate Change and the Environment, gave an introductory presentation on recycling legislation and waste disposal options. Tariq Abdul Salam, Head of Planning and Improvement of Logistics and Operations in Chip’s Emerging Markets, presented a presentation on sustainable transport. Arona Narayanan, Delsco’s Environmental Strategy provides a presentation on improving recycling practices in the supply and distribution sector.
Dr. Belaid Rettab, Head of Economic Research and Sustainable Development at Dubai Chamber, said that the forum has supported the efforts of the Dubai Chamber to raise awareness about sustainability and contributed to enhancing the competitiveness of the sector through the adoption of best sustainable practices. By the Sustainability Chain Supply and Distribution Working Group to promote public-private partnerships in sustainable business practices in the supply and distribution sector.
He explained that the DCCI network plays a key role in organizing the various events that promote the adoption of sustainable environmental practices in the operations of companies in the supply and distribution chain, considering that this network has proved to be a key player in spreading awareness about sustainable best practices that have a positive impact on institutional activity and the environment.
