The UAE leads the world in mobile internet speed in June

Abu Dhabi, July 20 / The UAE ranked first in the world in mobile Internet speed for the month of June, with a download speed of 204.24 megabits per second, and an upload speed of 22.72 megabits per second, according to the “Abu Dhabi” index. Speedtest issued by the company “Okla” to test and analyze the speed of downloading and sending data.
According to the index, the UAE topped the world rankings during 5 months in the first half of the current year 2023 (January, February, March, May, and June), while it ranked second in April.

As for fixed line broadband, the UAE ranked second globally and first regionally and in the Arab world during June, with a download speed of 239.2 megabits per second, while Singapore topped the list with a speed of 247.29 megabits per second.
According to the “Speed Test” index for the month of June, the UAE advanced in fixed line internet speed from the fourth place in January of this year, and from the 15th place during June of last year.

On a quarterly level, and according to the quarterly reports issued by “Ocla”, “Etisalat from &e” recorded the fastest average download speed via both mobile and fixed lines in the UAE, at 216.65 Mbps and 261.98 Mbps, respectively, in the second quarter of 2023. It also recorded the fastest average download speed of 5G at 680.88 Mbps.
