The UAE is the first regionally in index’s 2018 Emerging Markets logistics

MEDIA IN – DUBAI January 22, 2018 WAM

The UAE has maintained its leading position among the countries of the region and ranked 3rd globally after China and India for the fourth year in a row in the Agility Logistics Index for Emerging Markets 2018 and got  the first place in terms of infrastructure quality.

The sub-index of market coherence and compatibility examines market access and the business climate. Six Middle Eastern and African countries are ranked among the Top 10 emerging market countries on the market consensus standard.

In terms of business climate, the UAE, Oman and Bahrain surpassed all 50 countries covered by the index, which examines the economic competitiveness of emerging global markets, with Saudi Arabia ranking 8th and Kuwait 16th.

“The UAE maintains a very high ranking in many indicators because of the abundance of free trade zones characterized by a tax-free environment for companies and full foreign ownership of projects and ensuring the return of total capital and profits,” said Elias Menem, Chief Executive Officer, Agility Global Logistics Services, Middle East and Africa. This significantly continues to be an important benchmark for emerging markets since Abu Dhabi has many prestigious infrastructure projects in the pipeline and we are absorbing this growth by expanding our business. “He continued.
