The UK economy grew at a lethargic pace in the three-month period ended last May, for the second time, the UK’s Office for National Statistics (ONS) said on Wednesday.
The UK gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.3% in the period between March and May, with the latest growth were seen at 0.5% in the period between January and March.
However, the UK economy picked up on a monthly basis last May, with the GDP rising by 0.3%, compared with a drop of 0.4% in April.
By 8:38 am GMT, the GBP/USD ticked up by 0.03% to $1.2469, while the EUR/GBP pair edged up by 0.11% to GBP 0.9001.
