US stocks close on a mixed note

US stocks closed lower on Wall Street today.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 5.96 points, or 0.02 percent, to 2,5008.90 points, while the broader S & P 500 gained 0.88 percent, , 23 points, to close at the level of 2704.08 points.
The Nasdaq Composite Index gained 98.66 points, or 1.37 percent, to close at 7284.74.
