US stocks open higher on higher technology shares

US stocks opened higher today, supported by technology gains and positive results for companies such as Coca-Cola and Twitter.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 2.78 points, or 0.01 percent, at 2,6513.83. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index was up 2.02 points, or 0.07 percent, at 2,909.99. The NASDAQ Composite Index was up 11.48 points, or 0.14 percent, at 8026.75.
