US stocks opened lower today as investors evaluate developments related to the US-China trade talks and the State of the Union address by President Donald Trump, without any specific economic policy initiatives.
The Dow Jones industrial average fell 39.95 points, or 0.16 percent, to open at 25,371.57 points. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index shed 2.65 points, or 0.10 percent, to 2,735.05. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 1.64 points , Or 0.02 percent, to 7400.44 points at the opening.
