The volume of trade between the UAE and China reached 53.3 billion dollars (195.8 billion dirhams) at the end of last year, compared with 46.3 billion dollars (169 billion dirhams) at the end of 2016, a growth rate of 15.1 percent. The non-oil trade report between the UAE and China showed that the value of re-exports rose 37.4 percent to 3.5 billion dollars (12.8 billion dirhams) and imports grew 14.7 percent to 48.3 billion dollars (177.4 billion dirhams). The country’s foreign trade with China last year was 25.685 billion US dollars (94.3 billion dirhams), accounting for 48 percent of total foreign trade, compared to 52 percent of the 27.644 billion US dollars (101.5 billion dirhams) China’s foreign trade with China accounted for 14.7 percent of the country’s total foreign trade for 2017, according to preliminary estimates released by the Ministry of Economy earlier this year.
