Wall Street Closing higher

The Dow Jones industrial average rose 197.43, or 0.8 percent, to 25,877.33.

Twenty-five of the index’s 30 components gained, led by Intel and Caterpillar, which each surged more than 2 percent.

Apple and United Technologies each climbed nearly 2 percent.

Boeing advanced 1.7 percent.

The broader Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose 24.13, or 0.85 percent, to 2,864.36.

Technology rebounded 1.5 percent, leading advancing sectors and partially recovering from Monday’s 2 percent plunge.
