In the presence of UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, honored the 10 winners of the 2019 Zayed Sustainability Award.
The award ceremony was held at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week on Monday in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Sheikh Mohammed congratulated the winners, praising their efforts and valuable contributions to support sustainable development.
And urged them to continue to work and seek innovative and sustainable solutions that contribute to the current and future challenges, and commended their ideas, efforts and creations that contributed to the development of social and economic development in their countries and regions.
Sheikh Zayed stressed that this year’s Zayed Sustainability Award is an important milestone in the award process. In 2018, the UAE celebrated the “Year of Zayed”, a revival of the heritage, values and approach of the founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who inspired To develop broader categories of solutions to enhance the effectiveness of addressing the challenges of global sustainability.
“Under the wise leadership of President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed, the UAE continues to inspire its global vision for sustainable and comprehensive development of the rich cultural and human heritage of the founding leader Sheikh Zayed,” he said. The UAE is celebrating its year of 2019.
He pointed out that the Zayed Award for Sustainability, by developing its mission to honor outstanding efforts in the sectors that are the cornerstone of achieving the goals of sustainable development of the United Nations, provides a unique global platform that attracts the distinctive ideas that can achieve benefits on the level of human life and the protection of our planet.
“Expanding the award to healthcare, food security, water and energy has boosted its ability to motivate and empower a new generation of pioneers to deliver important innovations that consolidate the continuity of performance and progress in the Award’s message by bringing about positive change in the lives of millions of people around the world.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces handed the award to the ten winners in the following categories: health, food, energy, water and international secondary schools.
The 2019 edition of the award was honored by a group of outstanding pioneers who contributed through their hard work and entrepreneurial spirit in developing practical and practical solutions to various communities around the world.
The award attracts organizations such as small, medium and non-profit organizations to present their current solutions that have shown a significant positive impact, while the global high school class aims to inspire young minds and encourage partnerships with proposed concepts or projects that can be implemented through the amount of money awarded.
