The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) today announced that it will spend more than SR 136 billion at the end of 2017, (70) billion riyals, while the direct and indirect contribution of the sector in the GDP was about 6% and 10% in non-oil GDP, in return for large investments from the government and private sectors.
The TRA revealed that total mobile subscriptions fell to 40 million subscribers, of which 75% were pre-paid subscriptions and 127% were mobile penetration.
The number of subscribers to mobile broadband services reached about 30 million subscribers and growth of 25% compared to the previous year, while the number of Internet users increased to about 26 million, %.
