The Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Dubai Judicial Institute have signed a memorandum of understanding to facilitate the exchange of information and knowledge on commercial arbitration in the UAE.
The memorandum stipulates the strengthening of the work between the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Institute and the joint coordination between the two institutions in organizing events and hosting seminars, workshops, conferences and training activities on arbitration and mediation as an alternative option for resolving disputes.
The MOU also included the exchange of experiences and information on various instruments for the settlement of commercial disputes in the common interest.
“The MoU will contribute to the promotion of alternative dispute resolution solutions for the private sector in the UAE and the opportunity to gain legal expertise that will help us resolve the regional disputes that some private sector institutions and companies may face,” said Hamid Mohammed bin Salem, Secretary General of Chambers.
Judge Jamal Al-Sumaiti, Director General of the Dubai Judicial Institute, said that the MOU strengthens cooperation with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in order to facilitate the exchange of information and knowledge on commercial arbitration, especially at the heart of the Institute’s mission to disseminate legal and judicial knowledge in Dubai and UAE in general.
