Union of Chambers discusses the role of the Arab private sector and businesswomen

HE Mohamed Bin Salem, Secretary General of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the UAE, Mohamed Abdo Said, Chairman of the Union of Arab Chambers, and Riam Siam, President of the Egyptian Economic Council for Business Women in Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, discussed means of activating cooperation between the Arab Chambers to enhance the role of the Union in Arab economic and social life.

The meeting was attended by Farida Abdullah Qambar Al Awadi, Chairperson of Emirates Businesswomen Council, Fatima Al Awadi, Halima Al Sayegh and Futtaim Al Shehhi, Board Members of the Emirates Businesswomen Council.

He stressed the importance of strengthening the role of the Union of Arab Chambers to strengthen the presence of the Arab private sector and its active participation in the formulation of Arab economic policies, To be in line with progress at the global level.

He pointed out that there are many projects to be worked on in the future, most notably finding mechanisms to strengthen cooperation between the Arab private sector and activate it, especially with regard to businesswomen because it is a key to achieving sustainable growth in our economies.

He also reviewed the developments in the UAE business sector, especially the upcoming launch of Expo Dubai 2020.

For his part, the President of the Union of Arab Chambers noted the leading role of the UAE business sector in general and the UAE businesswomen sector in the Middle East.

Praising the successful experiences of businesswomen who receive special attention and care from the UAE government, all of which contribute to strengthening the Arab economic structure.

He pointed out the necessity of concerted efforts of the Arab private sector to confront the economic and social challenges faced by most Arab countries, stressing the importance of continuous cooperation and coordination with the General Secretariat of UAE Chambers Federation to achieve the desired objectives.
