The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and the world reached $ 23.4 billion during the first quarter of the current fiscal year (2018/2019) compared to the trade volume of $ 20.58 billion during the same quarter last fiscal year (2017/2018).
The Egyptian Central Bank said in its report today that the volume of Egyptian exports to the most important trading partners (14 countries accounting for 60% of the total volume of trade) increased during the current fiscal year to reach 4.25 billion dollars compared to 3.7 billion dollars during the last fiscal year, Egypt’s imports rose to $ 9.85 billion from $ 8.15 billion.
The report pointed out that China ranked first in terms of the most important trading partners with Egypt in the amount of trade exchange of 1.6 billion dollars, and the United States in second place in the size of trade exchange of 1.5 billion dollars, and Saudi Arabia ranked third in the size of trade exchange reached $ 1.48 billion of which ($ 1.2 billion imports, $ 195 million exports.
