The Department of Economic Development in Sharjah organized the “Change Industry” forum in its second edition in the Sharjah Center for Space and Astronomy Sciences, with the participation of a number of governmental and private bodies as well as industrial establishments in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The meeting was attended by a number of government agencies, including the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization, Sharjah Environment Company, Bee’ah, the General Administration of Civil Defense in Sharjah and the Department of Economic Development.
Sultan Abdullah Al-Suwaidi, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development in Sharjah, launched the Sharjah Industrial Directory issued by the Department in cooperation with various local and federal authorities in the emirate.
The directory includes the services and facilities provided by the Ministry of Energy and Industry, the General Directorate of Civil Defense, the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology, the Department of Planning and Surveying in Sharjah, the Department of Ports and Customs, Sharjah City Municipality, Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Sharjah Airport Free Zone.
Sultan bin Abdullah Al-Suwaidi said that the department was keen to set up a plan for industrial investment in the emirate in cooperation with the concerned government authorities. Such dialogue sessions would support efforts to attract more investments to the emirate.
For her part, Mariam Nasser Al Suwaidi, deputy director of the Department of Industrial Affairs in the Department, said that the organization of such meetings, which discuss ways of developing the industrial situation in the emirate, is an ideal opportunity to exchange views, ideas and proposals with government and private bodies and departments and to seek creative and innovative solutions to the challenges in order to develop clear frameworks for the environment.
