In her speech, Amira Al-Hafeiti, Deputy Permanent Representative of the UAE to the United Nations, pointed to the bleak situation in Afghanistan, in light of the continuing discrimination against women and girls, the collapse of the local economy, the lack of liquidity, the continuation of terrorist attacks, in addition to the harsh climate repercussions. She explained that providing aid is becoming increasingly difficult in light of continued harassment and intimidation against female humanitarian workers.
