Sharjah, April 12 / The Sharjah Department of Agriculture and Livestock will inaugurate, the day after tomorrow (Friday), the strategic national wheat product, “Seven Sanabel” in its final form, after going through multiple stages that lasted more than a year, personally supervised by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member The Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, in order to provide a national product that is free of chemicals, is not genetically modified, has international specifications, and has the highest protein percentage compared to similar products in the local markets.

His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Al Tunaiji, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock in Sharjah, said, in an exclusive statement to the Emirates News Agency, that wheat is considered a strategic commodity, and its availability is a priority within the strategies of any country in the world, and in the UAE, specifically in the Emirate of Sharjah, the order of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah By establishing a productive strategic farm in the Mleiha area to grow wheat, pointing out that the previous beliefs indicated that it was difficult to grow it in light of the climatic conditions in the region in general, but what we found of promising and impressive results on the ground exceeded expectations.

Al-Tunaiji explained that after the completion of the harvesting stage, the stage of sending the wheat to the milling companies came, as the selection of the “Al-Ain Mills” company came and contracted with it, after conducting a thorough study and examining the company’s production lines, laboratories, packaging and delivery to the sales outlets, indicating the presence of a team from the department in the mills to check on the Business progress according to agreed standards. Official licenses are available for the “Seven Sanabel” flour product, issued by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology.

Al-Tunaiji noted that the contract to sell the product came initially with the “Sharjah Coop” due to the multiplicity of its sales outlets and their great marketing experience.

Wheat is received from the external silos to the internal silos, through processing and cleaning processes, then milling operations using the latest technological systems and devices.

It is noteworthy that the wheat cultivation project will be completed in three phases, the first phase on an area of 400 hectares, then the second phase will increase in the year 2024 to reach an area of 880 hectares, and the third phase will be completed in the year 2025 to reach 1900 hectares.
