The UAE-Serbia Joint Commission holds its first meetings in Belgrade and is looking at strengthening the economic and investment partnership

The Serbian capital “Belgrade” hosted today the work of the ministerial meeting of the first session of the joint committee of the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Serbia. The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of State and Serbia Sinsha Mali, Minister of Finance. The delegation of the UAE included a number of officials representing various federal and local government agencies and semi-governmental and private companies.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Sultan Al Jaber conveyed the greetings of the leadership, government and people of the UAE to the leadership, government and people of the Republic of Serbia and stressed the keenness and interest of the UAE to promote and develop relations with Serbia, reflecting the aspirations and directions of the high leadership of the two friendly countries. And valued the strategic cooperation between the two friendly countries.
He stressed the importance attached by the leadership in the UAE to the consolidation of bilateral relations with Serbia and briefed the Serbian side on the efforts to diversify the economy in the country and the investment opportunities offered by the efforts of developing the UAE economy, especially new opportunities in the energy sector including oil, gas, refining, petrochemicals and renewable energy.
Sultan Al Jaber expressed the aspiration of the UAE to enhance the flow of investments between the two countries and to explore more investment opportunities in Serbia, including investments stemming from economic reforms as well as opportunities in promising export sectors such as mining, industry and information technology. Focus incoming investments and diversify their sources.
He stressed the importance of taking advantage of the opportunities to enhance the levels of bilateral trade between the two countries, and called on the Serbian side to benefit from the commercial and investment center of the UAE.
He pointed out that the UAE is an ideal point for establishing business, trade and investment in the regional and international markets, in light of its advanced infrastructure, legislative system and a unique investment environment, allowing the business sector in Serbia to diversify its foreign trade and enter fast-growing Asian markets Starting from the UAE.
