Tropical Storm Nanmadol formed over the sea in the south of the country, where it is expected to approach Okinawa Prefecture in southern Japan and the islands of Kyushu and Shikoku on or after Saturday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The agency added – according to the Japanese Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) today (Wednesday) – that a tropical depression became a tropical storm at three in the morning local time today, noting that the storm is accompanied by winds of about 65 kilometers per hour.
The agency indicated that this storm is moving from east to northeast slowly and is expected to move to the northwest as it develops.
