US lawmakers intend to submit a bill to both houses of the US Congress on Tuesday on suspending the supply of US weapons to Saudi Arabia against the background of the decision to reduce oil production in the framework of “OPEC +”, according to what was published by the “Russia Today” website.
The initiators of the initiative, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Representative Ro Hanna (D-California), said in a joint article published by Politico on Sunday: “This week Saudi Arabia conspired with Russia and made a decision at the OPEC + meeting to reduce oil production by an amount Two million barrels per day, thus raising the price of gas in Russia’s favour. The Saudi decision was a clear blow to the United States, which can also respond: It can quickly stop the kingdom from delivering massive amounts of American military technology.”
