Activation of Saudi accession to the International Road Transport Convention

The General Authority of Saudi Customs has signed an agreement to activate Saudi Arabia’s accession to the International Road Transport Agreement (TIR) ​​with the Saudi Automobile Club as the official representative of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) in the Kingdom and the guarantor. The aim of this agreement and the Saudi accession to the TIR system is to unify and facilitate customs procedures and procedures for the transit of transit goods, as well as to enhance the security aspect that ensures the transport of goods in tankers and safe containers, which contributes to the growth of trade exchange and transit between the member countries of the Convention Trucks and facilitate their traffic.  As the system contributes to significantly reduce the costs of road transport by speeding up the procedures and the use of standard means of inspection and the adoption of the international traffic registers adopted by the International Road Transport Union,
