Dubai Customs accompanies the comprehensive economic partnership agreements with special policies

Dubai Customs keeps pace with the comprehensive economic partnership agreements between the UAE and a number of major countries in the global and regional trade markets, as the country has so far signed comprehensive economic partnership agreements with 4 countries, namely India, Israel, Indonesia and Turkey, and with the entry into force of the partnership agreements with these countries, Trade exchange with it is launching into a new phase that is witnessing a strong qualitative and quantitative leap that supports the level of foreign trade of the UAE, whose value in 2022 amounted to about 2.233 trillion dirhams, achieving a growth of 17% compared to 2021.

In order to ensure the best results of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements in terms of supporting trade exchange with the country’s partner parties in these agreements, Dubai Customs has issued customs policies that define the scope of application, lists of obligations in trade in goods and products, requirements for granting preferential treatment, and a number of general provisions, conditions and controls for rules of origin. The competent customs departments implement the customs policies issued to ensure the application of the terms and conditions of these agreements.

The department works to provide all commercial and customs services and facilities for merchants and investors from countries with which the UAE has concluded comprehensive economic partnership agreements, based on Dubai Customs’ keenness to achieve its vision of being the leading customs administration in the world supporting legitimate trade by playing its vital role and implementing its mission. Representing the protection of society and the promotion of sustainable economic development through commitment, facilitation and innovation, in order for the department to have an effective contribution to reaching the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda “D33” by working to double the total value of Dubai’s foreign trade to reach 25.6 trillion dirhams for goods and services, and adding 400 new cities For the foreign trade map, as the department is working on implementing the strategic plan of Dubai Customs 2021-2026 to ensure the development of commercial and customs services and facilities at an escalating pace to enhance economic growth and protect society while constantly delighting customers to attract more trade and investment to the Emirate of Dubai and the UAE in general.
