Shama Bint Sultan, Economic Forum in Jordan: Empowering youth contributes to sustainable development

Sheikha Shama bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, CEO of Alliance for Global Sustainability, “The empowerment of young people contributes to the achievement of the goals of sustainable development as they are making the future.
This came during her participation in the activities of the World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa, which started yesterday at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center in Jordan in the presence of Queen Rania Al Abdullah, wife of King Abdullah II of Jordan, Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II and Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Alliance for Global Sustainability.
Sheikha Shama bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan said in her speech during a panel discussion entitled “Reorganizing the Business Climate in the Middle East” that empowering young people and taking advantage of their enormous potentials is very important and should be adopted by all countries of the region. The circle of growth and impact has short and long-term implications for societies.
“Through our youth, we generate new ideas and concepts and develop pioneering innovations that address many issues, such as climate change and its impact on the environment and other areas,” Sheikha Shamma said during the session. Alliance for Global Sustainability (AGS) seeks innovative solutions.
Sheikha Shamma explained to the audience about the UAE’s encouragement of dialogue between leaders and young people. “Through the establishment of a number of platforms, initiatives and councils, the UAE has fostered a sense of responsibility among the youth of the homeland and enabled them to participate in discussions on important issues that will affect them in the future. Noting that the UAE invests considerable financial and human resources in the establishment of institutions such as the Emirates Council for Youth and the Federal Authority for Youth and the index of welfare and youth development in order to support and empower the present and future of the nation’s youth.
The forum, inaugurated by His Majesty King Abdullah II, brings together more than 1,000 government leaders, heads of companies and civil society from around 50 countries to discuss a range of global issues and challenges such as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, new social and economic models, Environment.
Sheikha Shama bint Sultan continues to present her experience and vision as CEO of Alliance for Global Sustainability, an institution that coordinates government and private sector companies to develop and advise on sustainability projects.
