Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, affirmed that the UAE, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him” and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him,” believes in the necessity of strengthening the participation of Emiratis in the new economic sectors, and double their numbers.

This came during a government session entitled “Doubling the number of citizens in the new economic sectors”, as part of the work of the annual meetings of the UAE government 2022.

The Minister of Economy added that the start-up companies and national family companies established in the country constitute a major driver of economic growth and contribute to the establishment of a globally influential national economy, based on a flexible and diversified approach, which stimulates the entry of more Emirati youth to the labor market, and enhances their participation in project development. and benefit from their experiences in developing innovative ideas that enhance the leadership of the UAE in the future economic sectors.

He pointed out that the UAE government has been able over the past few years to enhance its global competitiveness and make it an attractive economic center, by developing programs and initiatives aimed at developing projects and facilities that provide new job opportunities and support their contributions to raising the level of the country’s gross domestic product, in line with With the new economic model of the state based on knowledge and innovation.

The UAE government is working, within its comprehensive national initiatives launched by the Ministry of Economy, to double the number of national companies operating in the country, whether they are start-ups, family businesses, or innovative companies, in partnership with many different government agencies in the country.

The session included government officials and leaders at the federal and local levels, representing the Ministry of Economy, local economic departments, executive councils, and chambers of commerce and industry at the state level, in addition to strengthening their partnerships with the Emirates Development Bank. The next stage of development will focus on developing new economic sectors, which include metavirs, biotechnology, financial technology, the space sector, smart cities, smart mobility and other promising economic sectors.
