Abdullah bin Touq Al-Marri, Minister of Economy, visited the project of Al-Dhahirah Toshka Company in the Arab Republic of Egypt. He was received by Khadim Al-Derai, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and founding partner of Al-Dhahirah Holding Company.
This came on the sidelines of the “Egypt and the UAE, One Heart” activities, which were held over three days in Cairo under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the inauguration of Emirati relations. Egypt, with the participation of a large group of officials and investors from various sectors.
During his visit, he was briefed on the “Al-Dhahirah Toshka” project in the Egyptian market, which is built on an area of 37,400 acres, and was introduced to the company’s efforts to enhance food security and provide healthy food for all. And the implementation of the vision of food security, which aims to preserve water resources and sustain the supply of basic commodities.
Abdullah bin Touq said: “The UAE is the largest Arab investor in Egypt and among the largest in the world, with a cumulative investment balance of more than 102 billion dirhams, a number that is expected to witness significant growth in the coming years. This is within the framework of the distinguished economic and commercial partnerships between the two brotherly countries.”
He praised the efforts of Al Dhahirah Company in implementing the UAE’s vision on food security, and its pivotal and important role in providing basic food commodities and crops to consumers easily, especially in light of the changes that the world is witnessing in the agricultural sector.
For his part, Khadim Al Derei, Vice Chairman and Co-founder of Al Dahra Holding Company, said: “We are pleased to visit Abdullah bin Touq and the accompanying delegation to the headquarters of Al Dahra Egypt, and to view its investment projects.”
