Tens of thousands demonstrated in France to demand higher wages in the face of inflation and for forcing striking workers at refineries and fuel depots to work.
According to the Ministry of Interior, 107,000 people demonstrated across the country, while the General Labor Union, which organized this “mobilization and strike” day, along with several unions and other youth organizations estimated their number at about 300,000.
In Paris, a huge procession was attended by 70,000 people, according to the organizers, and 13,000 according to the police, in the afternoon, led by a banner calling for an increase in wages and “respect for the right to strike.”
