Oman and Zanzibar seek to boost trade exchange and link exports to African markets

Muscat Media In: The Sultanate of Oman and Zanzibar signed a number of memoranda of understanding and economic and trade agreements aimed at promoting trade exchange and linking exports to African markets. The agreements were signed within the framework of the visit of the President of Zanzibar, Dr. Hussain Ali Mwinyi, to the Sultanate. The agreements covered the areas of higher education, innovation, vocational training, transfer of science, knowledge and technology, and the establishment of a knowledge-based economy. For his part, Dr. Hussain Ali Mwinyo and the delegation accompanying him visited the port of Sohar and its free zone and examined the competitive advantages and logistical services provided by the group to enhance trade and economic activities between the Sultanate and Zanzibar
