Abu Dhabi Economic Summit kicks off February 28

Abu Dhabi, February 20 / The Abu Dhabi Economic Summit, hosted by the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi and organized by The Economist Impact, will start on February 28, 2023, with the wide participation of government experts and prominent specialists in the fields of business, finance and technology from around the world, in a move aimed at opening New horizons for growth and development.

The summit, which is held under the slogan “Shaping the Future: New Horizons for Economic Growth”, looks forward to drawing new features of the global economic scene, standing on the most prominent economic changes witnessed in the past five years, and considering strategies and solutions to take advantage of the latest promising trends, including digitization and sustainability.

The event will attract more than 25 speakers and 300 participants from the government and private sectors, including the financial, business and technology sectors.

The summit will highlight the unique advantages of the Middle East and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in particular, as it is a region with a steady population growth, and enjoys increasing geopolitical importance.

The mutual influence between the government and the private sector will be a constant issue, as the role of the private sector in trade and investment is a major engine of economic growth, and countries around the world must take upon themselves the responsibility of providing a certain level of support and regulation so that economic growth is parallel.

The speakers and panellists will address the options available to governments, the strategies needed to enhance national capabilities, and the innovative and vital plans to develop the corporate work system away from bureaucracy.

The issue of sustainability will be strongly present during the summit discussions, and given that the trend towards building an economic model that is more environmentally friendly and more efficient is inevitable, so experts and participants will discuss the best ways to focus on this goal.

The summit will also address the so-called “talent and competencies crisis”, as exploring new horizons for economic growth requires a different type of workforce that should have high digital skills. Participants will also discuss the institutions’ strategy to reach, develop and retain the best talents in a fiercely competitive global market. .
