The value of subsidies in the UAE is 19.2 billion dirhams in 2018

Federal and local government subsidies across the UAE totaled AED 19.2 billion in 2018, a move that reflects the country’s continued support for citizens to promote family cohesion and cohesion.
Subsidies accounted for about 5% of the UAE government’s total financial expenditure of AED 389.3 billion last year, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Finance.
In addition to direct cash support, support from the federal and local governments includes social subsidies and price support as well as transfers to government-linked entities.
The support also includes services provided to many segments of the society, including the owners, the elderly, social welfare and marriage grants, as well as other services directed to the family in general.
The vision of the UAE 2021 includes indicators of community cohesion through which the members of society are measured by the principles and values ​​associated with national identity, social solidarity and community partnership among all components of society in the country.
The National Agenda aims to preserve a cohesive society that is proud of its identity and belonging by providing a comprehensive environment that integrates the fabric of the different sectors of society and preserves the culture, heritage and traditions of the UAE and enhances its social and family cohesion.
Data from the Ministry of Finance show that the federal and local governments’ efforts to subsidize in 2018 continued to increase by 3.2 billion dirhams in the first quarter and rose to 7.55 billion dirhams in the second quarter.
In the third quarter of the same year, the value of subsidies amounted to AED 3.1 billion, while it reached AED 5.32 billion during the fourth quarter of the year.
