A 3-year mission .. A ship set off from France on a world tour to reduce plastic pollution

The “Plastic Odyssey” ship set off from the port of Marseille in southern France on October 1, on a three-year mission aimed at finding solutions to reduce plastic pollution in the 30 countries most affected by the phenomenon.

And the French navy officer Simon Bernard, who is the president and co-founder of the company, realized during his cruises the extent of the damage caused by plastic “of which 20 tons are poured into the ocean every minute”, the equivalent of a truckload of garbage.

And in 2016, the “Plastic Odyssey” project was born, which aims to “stop this bleeding,” as he puts it.

“It is not a ship to clean the ocean, but a ship to offer solutions,” the young man explained during the presentation of the mission in Marseille on Friday.
