The Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (Standards) has announced its support for the activities of the 24th World Energy Conference held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, during the period from 9-12 September at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition and Convention Center. During the review of the most prominent technical regulations, UAE regulations and specifications that serve the rationalization of energy consumption in the field of fuel and the oil and gas sector and oil derivatives and national legislative efforts in this regard.
During the four-day exhibition, DEWA will present the projects of modernizing energy efficiency card for household appliances, energy efficiency in oil and gas / oil derivatives, the UAE system for controlling solar energy products, energy efficiency card for electrical appliances, energy efficiency for vehicles and water efficiency.
HE Abdullah Abdul Qader Al Moaini, Director General of AAAID, said that “Standards” leads national legislative efforts in the fields of research and development and the development and adoption of international standards in vital areas, including the energy file, which clearly confirms the harmony of the work of the Authority with the plans and directions of the UAE government in support of scientific research and innovation The developmental future of our country and outlines the future of our future generations.

The Energy Efficiency programs implemented by the company have contributed to the provision of energy-efficient products with a total of 11.4 million cards issued for electrical products. In the water sector, 3 million green cards were issued for products used in health facilities. The UAE system to control water-saving tools has contributed to saving water consumption of approximately 2 million gallons from the beginning of the mandatory application in July 2017 until the end of last year 2018.
